Seattle U's United Filipino Club (UFC) brings together students of Filipino ancestry on campus. They hold many events for students all over the school, the biggest being their annual Barrio Festival. Barrio is meant to teach, share and celebrate traditional Filipino Culture as well as contemporary Filipino-American Culture. A huge part of Barrio is letting the students express their own understanding of their culture by creating the decorations, setting the menu, making the food and choreographing the performances. This year was the 21st Annual Barrio, which they titled Barrio XXI "JR: My Father's Legacy". The theme and performances tied heavily to the experiences many Filipino-Americans had growing up with immigrant parents, and how current American culture clashed with their parents' traditional values.

Thank you to Dana Canaria and Germe Ambion for inviting me back to take photos.
